Beethoven - Choral Fantasy in C. Rachel Starritt/David Jones/RWCMD Chamber Orchestra + Chorus
This video was taken in the Dora Stoutsker Concert Hall at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff, on the 10th of February, 2016. Beethoven's Choral Fantasy was the conclusion of the famous performance in 1808 where the 5th and 6th symphonies and 4th piano concerto in G major were also performed, as well as "Ah Perfido" an aria for soprano and orchestra and excerpts from one of his masses for vocal soloists, chorus and orchestra. The concert lasted 4 hours long, can you imagine??? The choral fantasy brings all those forces together to create a piece full of virtuosity but also a journey through different emotions, from sincerity to a lot of humour, and also tenderness in the middle. It was an amazing opportunity for me to be a part of this performance which opened the "Beethoven in Revolution" festival to mark the 245th anniversary of Beethoven's birth. PF: Rachel Starritt; Conductor: David Jones; Royal Welsh College Chamber Orchestra and Chorus.

L.v. Beethoven: piano concerto No. 3 MVT 1 with my Piano Mother
First movement, Allegro con Brio, with the orchestral part played by my devoted piano teacher and mentor for over a decade,Alison Bowring. This movement takes its inspiration from another concerto for piano in the same key by Mozart, one of his rival contemporaries. Beethoven went to listen to Mozart's concerto being performed and remarked after the performance that he would never be able to write a piece like that. Somehow though, after he found that his condition was worsening becoming deaf and more isolated, he decided to undertake this idea anyway while breaking a new ground of Romanticism along the way. As a result this is one of Beethoven's best loved concertos. This performance was taken from a Friends Connect charity concert held at the Royal Welsh College on 29th November 2018. I was very privileged to receive the opportunity to perform this piece with my teacher as we don’t get to collaborate that often in public. Hope you enjoy!!! 💓💓💓 🎹 💝 🎹 💖 🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶 😁 ❤️❤️❤️ 2nd movement extract: https://youtu.be/jR7KiPlH_ls 3rd movement extract: https://youtu.be/521RZAkzKZQ 3rd movement extract, alternate take: https://youtu.be/2GAuob5ub3c #Beethoven250 #beethoven2020 #ClassicalMusic #Covid-19 #LiveMusic #PianoDuo #Concerto #Peace #Compassion #Harmony #Wisdom #Love #Strength #Trust #Respect #Dignity #Affection #Unity #Courage #Commitment #Positive #KeepSmiling #StayStrong #BeKind #BeHappy #ComeTogether #HumanNature #MusicHeals #Don'tCry #CalmDown #StayPositive #StayWell #StaySafe #BeInspired
